First national Men & Boys Awards announced

The Men and Boys’ Coalition, the UK’s leading umbrella charity for the men’s sector, has announced the creation of the inaugural national Men and Boys’ Awards for achievement in delivering compassion, care and social change for men and boys.

The six different award categories include a one-off 2020 Special Award, for the organisation or individual showing an exceptional response to the COVID-19 coronavirus crisis. Other awards are Activist of the Year; Project of the Year; the Award for Public Understanding; Diversity and Inclusion Award and Lifetime Achievement Award.

Dan Bell, CEO of the Men and Boys’ Coalition, said:

“At the Coalition we are constantly hearing about amazing new projects, charities and campaigners doing incredible work for men and boys across the UK, often with minimal publicity or acclaim. The Coalition wanted to create a platform to showcase these achievements and pay credit to their tireless efforts and proud accomplishments.

“It is particularly fitting that we announce this innovation in the year where COVID-19 is creating so many immense challenges for the sector, and we very much hope the nominations will reflect the worst effects of this terrible crisis.”

Anyone can nominate any UK-based charity, campaign or individual for the awards. For more details and instructions on how to nominate, please visit http://www.menandboyscoalition.org.uk/newsevents/the-first-annual-men-and-boys-awards-november-2020/
